Qualifications

  • 6 months experience in a care/support role with individuals with learning disabilities/mental health issues.
  • Current registration with NISCC or ability to register within 6 months.
  • 1 year of experience in a care/support role may substitute for QCF/NVQ 2.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 24-hour staff support services for adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities.
  • Support tenants in developing skills and involving them in decision-making processes.

Beechway House is a supported living accommodation giving care and support for 16 adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities. It is situated in the Waterside area of Derry ~Londonderry. Beechway House provides 24-hour staff support services, 365 days a year, supporting tenants to develop skills and get involved in day-to-day decision making.

QCF/NVQ 2 Health and Social Care or equivalent

And

6 months experience in a formal or informal care/support role* and previous experience of working with individuals with learning disabilities/ mental health issues.

Must be currently registered with NISCC or if new to the sector must achieve registration within 6 months.

Or
1 years’ experience in a formal or informal care /support role* and previous experience of working with individuals with Learning Disabilities/ Mental Health issues.

Must be currently registered with NISCC or if new to the sector must achieve registration within 6 months.

Must be willing to work towards the completion of relevant qualification.

*Informal Care / Support may include caring at home, and may also include voluntary work
