Job summary

Support Workers are needed in Bungay, Suffolk to provide in-home assistance for an independent but disabled client. Two part-time positions are available, each offering up to 20 hours per week with hours to be discussed at interview.

Hourly rate is £20.00, with activities including daily living support, assistance with getting ready for outings, errands, and managing routine paperwork and calls. You must not smoke or vape near the client.

Qualifications

• Experience in personal care and daily living assistance.
• Ability to load/unload wheelchair into vehicle.
• Willingness to work mornings/afternoons/evenings, including weekends and bank holidays.
• Non-smoker; avoid smoking or vaping around the client.
• Willing to learn and follow care routines; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Domestic tasks such as making bed, light cleaning, preparing meals and drinks.
• Help client prepare to go out and tidying after outings.
• Accompany client for outings, sometimes using community transport in client vehicle.
• Assist with managing paperwork and phone calls as needed.

Job Purpose:

To help me in my own home. I need help with everything in daily life.

About me:

I am an independent lady with multiple disabilities e.g. partially sighted, underlying systemic illness, and brain damage.

I use a folding electric wheelchair, you will need to be able to load and unload my wheelchair in and out of your vehicle. Additionally, I plan to have an assistance dog. Once I have my dog, it will join us wherever we go (I will provide suitable cover for your seat/boot).

I do not smoke and ask you not to smoke or vape around me, in my home or if we are in your vehicle.

Mainly, I am looking for someone with a can-do attitude, who is willing to learn and help me to live my life to the fullest. I will teach you how to use all my equipment safely.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Domestic tasks e.g. making my bed, light household cleaning, preparing food and drink daily


• Help me to prepare to go out/putting things away once I’ve been out


• Accompanying me to go out (your own vehicle/sometimes using community transport)
