Job summary

Allscreens Nationwide Ltd is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist young people in a supervised accommodation setting near Wembley. You will help residents develop daily living skills, manage personal responsibilities and access education or work opportunities.

You’ll provide empathetic, boundary-aware support, monitor welfare, and report safeguarding concerns as required. The role may include flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to ensure a safe, structured environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support to young people in a safe, positive and welcoming environment.
  • Build professional, trusting relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
  • Support young people with independent-living skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, shopping and managing appointments.
  • Help residents access education, training, employment and other opportunities.
  • Encourage young people to engage with support plans and work towards agreed goals.
  • Provide emotional support and listen to young people's concerns.
  • Promote positive behaviour, responsibility and respect for others.
  • Complete regular welfare checks and respond appropriately to concerns.
  • Identify and report safeguarding concerns in line with policies and procedures.
  • Support young people to manage tenancy responsibilities and maintain their accommodation.
  • Keep accurate records, case notes and incident reports.
  • Liaise with social workers, housing teams, education providers, health professionals and other agencies where appropriate.
  • Support young people during difficult or challenging situations and follow risk-management procedures.
  • Assist with activities that promote confidence, social skills and independence.
  • Follow organisational policies relating to safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality and equality.
  • Work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and occasional sleep-in/on-call duties where required.

Support worker - Young people's supported accommodation

To provide practical, emotional and social support to young people living in supported accommodation, helping them develop the skills, confidence and independence needed to move towards successful independent living.

Key responsibilities:

Provide day-to-day support to young people in a safe, positive and welcoming environment.
