Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a Residential Support Worker in Coalville, Leicestershire to support children and young people aged 8–18 in a nurturing Emotional Wellbeing Assessment Home.

You will build trusting relationships, support daily living activities, and help promote emotional resilience in a safe environment. The role requires dedication, flexibility for sleep-ins and weekends, and a commitment to safeguarding best practices.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare is required or willingness to obtain within the required timeframe.
• Demonstrate safeguarding and child protection understanding.
• Motivated to make a meaningful difference in young people's lives.
• Flexible and able to work sleep-ins, shifts, weekends and bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Build trusting, nurturing relationships that promote independence, wellbeing and personal growth.
• Collaborate with parents, carers and professionals to deliver holistic care.
• Contribute to day-to-day home operations, including cooking, cleaning and maintaining a welcoming environment.
• Accurately document and maintain records in line with safeguarding and regulatory standards.
• Promote and maintain a safe, supportive environment and uphold safeguarding policies.

Job Description:

Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people? We are seeking a dedicated Residential Support Worker to join our team, a warm and nurturing Emotional Wellbeing Assessment Home located in Coalville, Leicestershire.

This role offers the opportunity to support children and young people aged 8–18 in a safe environment that promotes growth, independence, and emotional resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Building trusting, nurturing relationships that promote each young person's independence, wellbeing, and personal growth.
• Collaborating with parents, carers, and professionals to deliver holistic care.
• Contributing to the day‑to‑day running of the home, including cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a welcoming environment.
• Accurately documenting and maintaining records in line with safeguarding and regulatory standards.
• Promoting and maintaining a safe, supportive environment at all times.
• Upholding safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the protection of all service users.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or be willing to achieve this within the required timeframe.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
• Be motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in young people's lives.
• Be flexible and committed to working sleep‑ins, shifts, weekends, and bank holidays.
• Relevant experience working with children and young people is desirable but not essential with the right attitude and willingness to learn.
