Job description

We're looking for two kind, compassionate, and resilient Support Workers to join our Mental Health service in Slough.

£26,208.00 per annum, working 40 hours per week.

Support Workers will provide support to customers to help them develop the life skills they require to meet the assessed needs of the service users. In some cases, this will include providing physical, domestic, emotional, and social care.

This role involves working on a rota pattern that includes early, late, weekend, and bank holidays.

What you'll do:

  • Undertake key-working responsibilities for a caseload assigned by the Team Leader/Manager.
  • Undertake initial and ongoing assessments of needs and potential risks, and agree on levels of support and actions.
  • Create support/action plans based on assessments and available resources.
  • Support customers in domestic tasks and practical assistance to ensure high-quality accommodation.

This list is not exhaustive and duties may change according to the needs of Look Ahead.

About you:

  • Enjoys social interaction and engaging in local activities to encourage customer involvement.
  • Approachable and open in behaviour.
  • Prefers working as part of a team.
  • Calm, resilient, and able to maintain good judgment under pressure.
  • Practical, logical, and well-organized.
  • Flexible in approach.

What you'll bring:

Essential:

  • Up to NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent, or experience in social care/charity sector.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in mental health.
