Job summary

Scottish Borders Council is seeking three Support Workers to join the Enhanced Dementia Unit at Waverley Residential Home in Galashiels. You will provide person-centred support and assist with daily needs in a respectful, dignified manner.

The role requires PVG Adults processed by SBC, SSSC registration preferred, and full training provided to new staff. A permanent contract and local benefits accompany the position.

Qualifications

• SVQ2 or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
• Training is provided to all staff.
• PVG Adults will be processed for you and you must be SSSC registered.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred practical and emotional support.
• Promote health and well-being of service users.
• Assist with personal care, eating, drinking and mobility as required.
• Safely administer medication following training.

Job Title: Support Worker - 3 Posts

Location: Waverley Residential Home, Galashiels

Hours: 1 x 24 hours, 1 x 20 hours and 1 x 27.5 hours

Salary*: £14.37 - £15.10 per hour / £27,739.05 - £29,147.42 pro rata per annum

Contract(s): Permanent

Qualifications: SVQ2 or equivalent is desirable but not essential. You can earn whilst you learn!

Training: All training is provided.

Requirements: PVG Adults - we will do this for you! SSSC registered.

The Role

Both posts will be based in the Enhanced Dementia Unit within Waverley Residential Home.

Providing person-centred practical and emotional support to empower the people we care for, as outlined in individual support plans.

Promote the health and well-being of the people we support and ensure their needs are met in an inclusive way.

Support, enable and involve service users in all aspects of their lives, including personal care, eating, drinking, and mobility if necessary.

Be responsible for the safe administration of Service Users' medication, following relevant training.
