Are you looking for a new opportunity and the chance to make a difference? Are you warm, willing to learn, and resilient? Then you are probably just the person we need.
You'll be a Waking Nights Support Worker at our children's home in Wingrave, working with children who have autism and learning disabilities. Part of a close-knit team, you'll support children and young people aged 11 to 19 to get settled for a good night's sleep. You'll check on them at regular intervals and be there to give emotional support and reassurance should they feel anxious, providing personal care when needed. During the day the children go to the nearby MacIntyre school. The role is 38 hours per week and you'll be working shifts on a rota including days, evenings and weekends. We also have part-time roles available.
Part-time roles are a minimum of two nights per week.
You may have been a care assistant or support worker before, but if not don’t worry, you don’t need experience so long as you have the right approach; we'll teach you the rest.
We’ll support you to gain your Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (free of charge), alongside other specialist training all provided on site by MacIntyre. The Diploma is a requirement for all Support Workers at our residential children's homes and you will need to obtain it within two years of starting your employment with us.
You will need your own transport to and from work - we are in a rural village with no nearby public transport.
