Job summary

Northumberland County Council is seeking a part-time Care Worker for Tynedale House in Blyth. You will support residents with daily routines, follow care plans and contribute to a safe, dignified living environment within a welcoming team.

No prior care experience is essential as full training including medication administration is provided. An empathetic, reliable attitude and good communication are key to delivering high-quality person-centred care.

  • Care experience is beneficial but not required; full training will be provided.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are valued.

What’s the role about?

As aCare Worker, you’ll be a key part of the support system that helps our residents live with independence, dignity, and joy. From assisting with daily routines to providing emotional support, your presence will be both comforting and empowering.

You will:

  • Work alongside professionals who share your passion for person-centred care
  • Help maintain a safe, supportive, and clean environment
  • Bring energy, compassion, and a positive attitude to every shift
What we’re looking for:

The Details:

Part-time, Permanent role – 19.25 hours per week

£13.69 - £14.59 per hour (NCC Band 4: £26,403 - £28,142 FTE (pro rata for part time employees £18,731 - £19,965)

Please note, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position.

Shift pattern:
  • 2 week rota consisting of the following shift pattern:
  • Week 1 - Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday
  • Week 2 - Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
  • All late shifts run 3:45pm - 21:45pm
  • 1/2 hour break every shift
