Job description

Support Worker - Gowerton, Swansea

Hourly rate: £11.60 to £12.50

Full-time: 40.25 hours per week

Location: Gowerton, Swansea

Requirements: A full UK driving license is required for this role.

At Ty Seren, we support adults with complex needs associated with autism. We embrace sector-leading practice by blending education, care, and therapeutic support to provide tailored placements for each individual. Our facilities include communal lounges, a large kitchen and dining area, and several acres of fields and woodland for social and recreational activities.

A day in the life of a Support Worker includes:
  • Ensuring the physical and emotional needs of individuals are met in a supportive environment;
  • Supporting recreational activities, outings, and community integration;
  • Promoting independence, self-esteem, and confidence, celebrating achievements and milestones;
  • Collaborating to ensure support is tailored to individual needs;
  • Maintaining accurate records of activities, progress, and incidents.
What we are looking for:
  • A compassionate and caring nature, with a genuine desire to make a positive impact;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Resilience and patience when facing challenges;
  • Willingness to learn and follow team guidance;
  • Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication;
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and occasional nights;
  • Driving license is advantageous but not essential.

Additional notes: This role involves regulated activity with adults and requires an enhanced DBS with barred list check.
