Join us as a Learning Disability Support Worker and help build a future where learning-disabled people live the best life possible.
We know that life can be complicated for everybody. But some of us are stopped from working towards our dreams. Many learning-disabled people won't be heard about the support they'd like. Some won't get to decide what they do for work or how to spend or save their money. Many won't get to try out new hobbies they love.
But you can change all that.
Join our growing team in Biggleswade, and get all the training you need to become a confident Support Worker.
This service focuses on supporting young adults with learning disabilities between the ages of 16-25 who are transitioning from their parental home into supported living. Our support workers ensure all the people we support gain the skills and knowledge to live as independently as possible and support them throughout this transition. The service provides 3 stages of transition: supporting people within their current home, moving into our Hft service, and finally moving out into a supported living service. You will be welcomed into the team, coached along the way, and will receive outstanding training for your role.
You will support individuals in daily tasks such as planning shopping, outdoor activities, personal care, attending events, and building confidence in using public transport. Supporting people to discover new interests, achieve goals, and maintain relationships is key. Providing high standards of care, listening to needs, and enabling independence are essential. Having a full driving license is a plus but not essential.
We look forward to welcoming you to our Biggleswade services!
