We are looking for a hard-working and enthusiastic Tenancy Support Worker to join our expanding team. As a Tenancy Support Worker, you will play crucial role in empowering individuals to sustain their tenancies. You will provide tailored, hands-on support, helping them navigate challenges such as financial difficulties, accessing resources, and improving overall wellbeing. This role focuses on tenancy-related support, so a strong understanding of housing issues and tenancy management is essential. You'll help individuals set up and maintain their homes, manage rent payments, deal with arrears, and avoid the risk of eviction. A good working knowledge of the welfare benefits system, including Universal Credit and Housing Benefit, will be beneficial.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide support that positively impacts person's we support health and wellbeing
  • Contribute and implement support plans
  • Be responsible for the delivery of all support and its administration, including tenancy support to sustain

  • Qualified to the level required by the SSSC as a support worker in a housing support service, or a willingness to work towards and to successfully complete qualification within the SSSC specified timeframe.

Desired Skills and Attributes:

  • Understanding of benefits and budgeting support
  • If you're starting a career in social care, or are already working in social care but don't have the qualifications just yet, we will support you to gain the appropriate qualifications needed to register without condition with the SSSC.
  • We want to encourage our staff and their own personal development. Training will be provided to help you excel in your role. We offer funded SCQF levelled qualifications, such as SVQs as part of your development plan.

About the Service

We offer a range of support across Midlothian through our Midlothian Temporary accommodation partnership. We provide a range of service models including, Housing First and Tenancy Support with support being provided in people's homes.
