Job Description:

We are recruiting for the support team of a young female customer based in Ripon. Our customer has Global Development Delay and uses Makaton and simple words to communicate. She seeks support to enhance her independence by working towards her goals and aspirations. Could this be you?

Our customer enjoys walks and swimming, so participation in these activities is required. She also likes crafts, and artistic talents are welcome to share with her. Support will continue during her attendance at local day services.

Due to her support needs with personal care, only female applicants are considered. This is a genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act.

The customer is supported 5 days a week, from 10 am to 5 pm. There are opportunities to work additional hours supporting other customers at Avalon.

No prior experience is necessary as comprehensive training will be provided. The key qualities are drive and compassion to help our customers live fulfilling lives.

Who are we?

Avalon Group (Social Care) is an adult social care charity that provides person-centred support to working-age adults, promoting independence and choice.

We seek enthusiastic individuals eager to use their skills to assist others.

Why work for us?

Our current rate is £12.27/hour, with enhancements for weekends and bank holidays, and a generous rate for sleepover shifts. Travel expenses are reimbursed between sessions.

We cover the cost of your Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Benefits include discounts on gym memberships and high street retailers such as Boots, M&S, and Sports Direct. Access to an employee assistance scheme offering 24/7 guidance is also provided.

We are an award-winning charity offering paid training, career development opportunities, and qualifications in Health and Social Care.
