Job summary

Westmorland and Furness Council is seeking compassionate Support Workers at Riverside House, Kendal, to provide care within our Residential Care Services. This part-time permanent role offers 22.5 hours per week and a market-competitive starting rate.

No prior experience is required as fully paid training and development are provided to help you start and grow in your caring career.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care and support within Residential Care Services, getting to know residents individually and supporting their wellbeing through physical and emotional care.
  • Assist with medication, provide personal care, and encourage residents to maintain or regain independence wherever possible.
  • Offer companionship and promote nutrition, fitness and mobility as part of promoting emotional wellness.
  • Working shifts usually cover days and nights across 7 days a year, including alternate weekends and Bank Holidays.

Hourly Rate:£13.47 (£14.00 including supplement - after 6 months)


A market supplement of £0.53p per hour is currently being applied to this role and will be payable once you have been in post for 6 months. The Market Supplement will be applied to both your basic salary and to any additional hours, uplifting the hourly rate to £14.00 per hour.

As a Support Worker (Carer Care Worker Care Assistant) you will get the opportunity to know people individually and support their wellbeing through physical and emotional care. You may also assist with medication providing personal care and encouraging our people to achieve or maintain independence.


No experience or qualifications are needed to get started. We will help and support you with fully paid training and development - we are looking for the right people with the right qualities. About Our Home

Riverside House is based in Kendal, and we have the capacity to support up to 34 residents, providing care, security, and companionship for those with Dementia, old age and the physically frail.


Working within our Residential Care Service will typically involve working shifts which usually cover between 7am until 10pm (days) or 9.30pm - 7.30am (nights) over 7 days 365 day a year - this will include alternate weekends (as part of a set rota) and Bank Holidays.
