We are looking for a Support Worker to join our Supported Living Service based in Richmond on a Part-time permanent basis (20 hours a week).

Driver preferable, shifts will be spread across mornings, afternoons, evenings, sleep-ins, weekends, and bank holidays.

You will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £62.45 for any sleep-in shifts carried out. The payment for sleep-ins is non-contractual.

Are you a caring & enthusiastic person! A craft or gardening lover, a gym-goer maybe? We are looking for a lively, upbeat person for our supported living service in Richmond, North Yorkshire!

We support adults who have a learning disability and live in our 3 supported living services across Catterick and Richmond. We are looking to grow our lively, inclusive, knowledgeable, and exceptionally friendly staff team! A driver would be preferable; however, we are happy to consider all applications.

We support both females and males, who all live independent, fun, and active lifestyles. Our services are busy environments, from going to day centres, supporting with leisure activities including cinema, seeing friends, gardening, socialising, and they need your support with this.

Supporting someone with their daily life is not a 9-5 job. You will need to be able to work across a range of different days and shift patterns, including some sleep-in shifts (Payment for sleep-ins is competitive and compliant with National Living Wage requirements). We realise that your quality time is important too, so your rota is prepared well in advance.

If you have a positive attitude and want to improve the lives of those with a learning disability, we want to meet you! We will support you with progression opportunities throughout your career with us. All employees have access to a large range of benefits we offer!

What does a Support Worker do?

As a Support Worker, you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will help to ensure the people we support live a more comfortable, dignified, liberated, and happy life. • Supporting people to live independently – budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments, and cooking delicious healthy meals.
  • Excellent communication skills and relationship building – supporting the people we support to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.
  • Community & Social Inclusion – supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and social events to promote life skills and individuality.
  • Personal care – helping people to get ready for the day. This may include prompting the people we support to take their medication and assisting with bathing, showering, and using the bathroom. Not all Support Worker roles include high levels of personal care.
