Job summary

UKCIL Ltd in Washington is seeking a dedicated support worker to assist a gentleman who is blind, deaf with hearing aids, and autistic. The role focuses on enabling independence and safe activities outside the home, including cafes, shops, and occasional medical appointments.

A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential, as you will drive to activities and appointments. Training will be provided, and enhanced DBS is required.

Qualifications

• Full clean driving licence and access to own vehicle.
• Knowledge or experience of autism.
• Ability to speak clearly in a calm, one-to-one setting.
• Reliability and consistency.
• Desirable: experience supporting someone with sensory impairment.
• Sight guide training provided.
• Enhanced DBS required (employer will cover cost).

Responsibilities

He communicates effectively using email and technology and is confident expressing his needs and preferences.**Hours / Wage**5 hours per week @ £13.50 per hourThe hours can be flexible over the week.**Duties**Supporting with accessing the community including cafés, restaurants, shopping, leisure activities, and occasional medical appointments.
