Independent Lives is seeking an energetic, patient Support Worker to assist a 6-year-old boy with autism and ADHD in Crawley. You will support leisure and social activities, personal care, and accompany him to parks, walks and SEND events.

The role requires fitness to run with him in open spaces, reliability, and excellent interpersonal skills. A driver with your own car is essential, and you should be comfortable around pets as family days out may occur.

Formación

• Experience supporting children with autism and ADHD.
• Ability to supervise a child with no danger awareness.
• Willingness to undertake outdoor activities in all weather conditions.

I am looking for an energetic, patient, calm Support Worker to support my 6 year old son with leisure and social activities.

He is non-verbal and has Level 3 Autism, ADHD and uses a mobility buggy and reins. Support with personal care and toileting will be required.

He is a very fast runner so you must be fit and healthy enough to run around with him in open spaces in all weathers. The role will involve taking him to the park, on walks and swimming (if confident swimmer) and accompanying him to SEND events and groups. You may sometimes be required to accompany us on family days out to places such as Chessington, Legoland and farms when my daughter will also be there.

Keeping him company at home may also be required. He loves his figures, animals and cuddly toys.

He must be kept safe and supervised at all times as he has no danger awareness.

We have 3 dogs so you must be comfortable with pets.
