Job summary

Encompass is seeking a kind, patient personal assistant to help a client live independently at home in Jedburgh. The role covers routine daily tasks, safety support, and companionship for up to 5 hours per week at £18/hour, with 5.6 weeks leave pro rata and a 6-month probation. References and PVG scheme membership are required.

The successful candidate will assist with housework, dressing, garden tasks, bed changes, and meal prep, and must enjoy dogs and driving as part of daily support.

Qualifications

• Experience in personal care or home support is essential.

• Reliable, compassionate and patient with the client.

Responsibilities

• To support client to ensure their safety and well-being.
• Assist with housework and dressing, including fasten bra, coat, shoes.

• Must like dogs and provide companionship during dog walks.
• Enjoy driving and traveling to support the client.

A lady living about 10 miles on the outskirts of Jedburgh, is looking for an experienced personal assistant to help her live independently in her own home and manage her day to day living safely and efficiently.

Terms:

• Hours of work: 5 per week, specific hours/days can be discussed:
• £18.00 per hour.
• Paid annual leave entitlement of 5.6 weeks pro rata
• Probationary period of 6 months
• Post subject to references and PVG scheme membership

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

• To support client to ensure their safety and well-being.
• To support with general care needs including:
  • Assistance with housework
  • Assistance whilst dressing e.g. fasten bra, get coat, shoes etc
  • Assistance in garden e.g. get compost, garden tools etc
  • Assistance changing bed
  • Meal and drink preparation. Help prepare food – must like cooking
• To develop a positive relationship with the client and work as part of a team.
• Must like dogs and provide companionship and confidence whilst I am dog walking.
• Enjoy driving
