Are you interested in working for the largest local authority in Scotland, in partnership with the NHS, to help improve the health and wellbeing of our community? Then, you are in the right place!

Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (GHSCP) is seeking to recruit a Support Worker to work across North East areas of the City.

The Community Support Team provides a Person-Centred Home-Based Support service for older people diagnosed with dementia and with related health and physical support needs.

Support Workers offer care and support to service users and their carers within their own homes. This includes assistance with daily living tasks to promote independence, rights, autonomy, and choices. Support Workers also facilitate access to community-based, meaningful, and outcome-led activities to enrich life experiences and support skill development. All support will align with Care Inspectorate guidance, policies, procedures, and national strategies for people living with dementia.

As a Support Worker, you will observe and assess service users to understand their physical, emotional, and environmental needs, contributing to ongoing care planning. Tasks include personal care, mobility assistance, documentation, and reporting on care plan progress. Support may also involve helping with communication to aid daily living tasks.

Training relevant to the role and personal development will be provided. You should be caring, tolerant, flexible, and competent in both written and spoken English. Good time management and organizational skills, along with a basic knowledge of Health & Social Care Standards, are essential.

This role requires flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends.

Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is mandatory upon appointment. Please note that successful candidates will need to pay for their PVG membership or scheme checks.

These roles are exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).

Interviews are scheduled for Wednesday, 28th May 2025.
