Job Description:

Join an Outstanding Provider with a Person-Centred Mission

Since 2007, CJP Outreach Services Ltd has delivered tailored, high-quality support for individuals with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and complex needs. We’re rated Outstanding by the CQC, and we’re proud of our strong values, high staff retention, and commitment to truly person-centred care.

An Exciting New Service in Sudbury

We’re launching a new supported living service in Sudbury and are now building a dedicated, compassionate team to support a young man transitioning to his new home in September 2025.

This is a rare opportunity to join from the very beginning and help shape a stable, consistent support team around an amazing individual with great potential for growth.

About the Person You’ll Support "J"

  • J is full of humour and loves to laugh—comedy and light-heartedness go a long way.
  • He enjoys going to the beach and spending time in open spaces, although motivation to leave home can sometimes be a challenge.
  • Once out, he can be so engaged that he doesn’t want to come home, so patience and flexibility are key.
  • He follows a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)-led approach focused on proactive, structured care.
  • Boredom is a major trigger, keeping J stimulated and engaged (at home and in the community) is crucial.
  • During periods of change or stress, J may show behaviours that challenge, but these do not define him, you’ll have full training and team support.

What You’ll Do

As part of a 3:1 support team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Building a trusting, respectful relationship with J
  • Assisting with daily routines, personal care, and community access
  • Encouraging J’s interests and introducing new activities
  • Working with colleagues and PBS leads to reduce behaviours of concern
  • Providing consistent, structured support to build J’s independence over time

What We’re Looking For

We welcome applicants with a strong sense of compassion, reliability, and the ability to stay calm and positive even in challenging situations. Ideally, you will:

  • Have experience in the care/support sector
  • Understand or have worked with individuals with complex needs or behaviours that challenge
  • Be patient, proactive, and pragmatic
  • Work well as part of a close-knit team
  • Be consistent and dependable—stability is crucial for J
  • Hold a full UK driving licence – J has his own vehicle, and every shift requires at least one driver
  • (We can consider some non-drivers, especially for night shifts, but availability is limited)

Available Shifts & Work Patterns

We’re recruiting for both day and waking night roles, with the following shift patterns:

  • Day shifts: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
  • Waking night shifts: 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM
  • Sleep-ins may be required occasionally
  • Part-time work available (typically 1–3 shifts per week)
  • We cannot offer split shifts due to the structure and consistency needed for J

Employee Benefits & Package

Working with CJP means being part of a values-led, supportive organisation. We offer:

  • Industry-specific and bespoke training, tailored to the individual you support (incl. PBS)
  • Career development and internal progression opportunities
  • Regular supervision, mentoring, and team support
  • Flexible work patterns to suit your lifestyle
  • Truly rewarding work—make a real difference every day
  • Be part of an Outstanding CQC-rated provider
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) and staff discount scheme
  • Refer-a-Friend Bonus: £500 per successful referral
