Job summary

Qualifications

  • Must hold a D1 License & be able to drive manual vehicles.
  • Experience in supporting adults with challenging behavior.
  • Willingness to work towards NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care.

Responsibilities

  • Implement individual support plans and activities.
  • Maintain effective communication with service users and families.
  • Support service users in daily tasks and social events.
  • Accurately maintain records and notes.

SUPPORT WORKER - Must hold a D1 License & Drive Manual

Driver required to support service users on appointments, day trips etc using the service vehicle

35 hours per week (inc weekends and bank holidays )

28 days inclusive of bank holidays

Main duties and responsibilities:

To participate in the day to day implementation of individual support plans and activities within a challenging environment.

To maintain effective communication and liaison with service users, families and others whilst respecting appropriate confidentiality.

To support service users with the preparation of Meals, Laundry duties, cleaning and social events.

To maintain accurate notes and records as and when required.

To work as part of a team to provide high quality care.

* Responsible for driving Service Users to various activities, day centres and appointments.

Personal Characteristics

Diploma in Health and Social Care NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent or be willing to work towards one.

Experience in supporting adults with challenging behaviour, learning disabilities and/or mental health issues.

The ability to keep calm under pressure.

The confidence to work alone or as part of a team.

The passion to work with vulnerable adults

The desire and commitment to achieve high standards of safeguarding.
