Job description

JOB TITLE: Support Worker - Learning Disability/Mental Health

LOCATION: Mullagh Houses, Limavady, Co. L'Derry
POSITIONS: Reserve List Full-Time/Part-Time, Temporary and Permanent

Mullagh Houses is a supported living accommodation giving care and support for 16 adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities. It is situated centrally within Limavady. Mullagh Houses provides 24-hour staff support services, 365 days a year, supporting tenants to develop skills and get involved in day-to-day decision making.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
  1. QCF/NVQ 2 Health and Social Care or equivalent
  2. 6 months experience in a formal care/support role* and previous experience of working with individuals with learning disabilities/mental health issues.
  3. Must be currently registered with NISCC or if new to the sector must achieve registration within 6 months.
  4. Previous experience in administrative duties.
  5. Or 2 years' experience in a formal care/support role* and previous experience of working with individuals with Learning Disabilities/Mental Health issues.
  6. Must be currently registered with NISCC or if new to the sector must achieve registration within 6 months.
  7. Previous experience in administrative duties.
  8. Must be willing to work towards the completion of relevant qualification.

*Formal Care/Support may include caring at home, where the carer is in receipt of Carers' Allowance. Formal Care/Support may also include voluntary work in a formal setting.
