Job summary

The Edmund Trust Milton-based positions offer flexible hours for dedicated Support Workers. You will provide person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities and autism, following care plans and collaborating with families and staff.

We provide internal training, opportunities for progression and a supportive team, with a focus on high-quality, compassionate care in a committed charity environment.

Job description

Hours per week: Flexible – full and part time positions available
Salary: £13.45 per hour
This is £28,052 per annum. (FTE is 40 hours per week, pro rata for part time.)
Employment type: Permanent

We are looking for dedicated Support Workers to join one of our supported living services based in either Milton. This role is truly special, as you will be providing person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities and Autism, allowing each to choose how they want to live their lives and enabling them to reach their full potential.

Main responsibilities

  • To provide person-centred support to the people who use our services.
  • To follow the support plans of the people we support and any other relevant documentation
  • To support all people in line with their individual communication needs
  • Assist with daily activities, which may include medication administration, and personal hygiene.
  • Maintain open communication with the people we support, their families and within the staffing team to ensure needs are met effectively.

Requirements:

  • A nurturing, supportive and patient approach
  • Strong communication skills, being able to pick up on both verbal and non-verbal cues
  • Shifts can either be long or short day shifts, possibly sleep ins and will involve every other weekend.
  • You need to hold a full UK driving licence.
  • New to social care – no problem, as we have excellent internal training for all support staff.
