Job summary

Standby24 is seeking an experienced Support Worker to assist individuals with Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and complex needs in Surrey, UK. The role focuses on building trusting relationships and delivering high-quality, person-centred care.

The position offers full-time hours, shifts including days and nights, and requires driving is preferred. Candidates should be calm, resilient, and capable of promoting independence and community participation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year's experience working as a Healthcare Assistant or Support Worker within mental health and/or learning disability services.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support to individuals, building trust and rapport.
• Deliver support in line with care plans, risk assessments and agreed strategies.
• Promote positive behaviour support and trauma-informed approaches.
• Work with colleagues to ensure consistent, effective support.
• Help individuals access the community, attend appointments and develop independence.
• Encourage choice, dignity and participation in daily life.
• Communicate with family, social workers and healthcare professionals as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Follow policies, procedures and best practice standards.
• Support daily living tasks including personal care, meals, and household tasks.
