Job description

Support Worker, Maes Y Coed, Pembroke Dock.

£11.60 to £12.00 dependent on experience. 45.5 hours per week.

**This role requires a driver’s license**

We’re a leading organization dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to children and adults with complex needs associated with autism. Maes Y Coed is our latest home in the Pembrokeshire area, near Pembroke Dock. Our Maes Y Coed home comprises four individual flats on the grounds of its sister service, Bangeston Hall. We are committed to providing personalized care packages tailored to each resident's needs and preferences. We look forward to opening our doors and welcoming individuals to their new home.

If you possess a compassionate nature and find fulfillment in empowering adults through nurturing, caring, motivating, and encouraging their decision-making, then this role is ideal for you.

A typical day at Maes Y Coed may include:

  1. Ensuring residents' physical and emotional needs are met through a supportive environment;
  2. Supporting residents during recreational activities, outings, and community integration;
  3. Promoting independence, self-esteem, and confidence, celebrating achievements and milestones;
  4. Working collaboratively to tailor support to individual needs;
  5. Maintaining accurate records of activities, progress, and incidents;
  6. Performing general housekeeping duties, including meal preparation.

We are looking for individuals who:

  1. Have a compassionate and caring nature with a genuine desire to make a positive impact;
  2. Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships;
  3. Are resilient and patient, able to adapt to individual needs;
  4. Are willing to learn and follow team guidance;
  5. Have basic IT skills for record keeping and communication;
  6. Are flexible to work shifts, including weekends and occasional nights.

Please note: This role involves regulated activity with adults and requires an enhanced DBS with barred list check.
