A leading company is seeking a Support Worker to assist a gentleman with Aphasia and Diabetes in Leeds. The role involves accompanying him during walks, engaging in meaningful interaction, and assisting with daily activities. This part-time position offers essential support and provides a break for his primary caregiver. Training will be provided, and confidentiality is crucial.
Support Worker LS13 - 15 Hrs Mon/Tue/Wed to support a gentleman with Aphasia and Diabetes - Leeds - LS13
To support a gentleman with Aphasia, which affects his communication and ability to speak. He enjoys walking and prefers quieter spaces. The support worker will accompany him during walks and engage with him despite his communication difficulties, understanding the importance of interaction. He can speak a limited number of words.
He has diabetes, and a basic understanding of this condition would be helpful. The role includes making meals and assisting with DIY activities, aligning with his interests.
This role provides a much-needed break for his wife from her caring responsibilities.
Confidentiality is essential. A DBS check and right to work verification are required. Two references will be obtained. Training will be provided free of charge via the council. The role offers approximately 5.6 weeks of holiday entitlement per annum, pro-rata.
