Support worker needed in Leeds 11, £12.40 per hour.

Language: Belin family can speak some English.

Support a young boy with Autism for 4 hours per week, supporting him at home and in the community. Hours are flexible. Initially, accompany him on outings with his mum, then in the community as rapport builds. Personal care involved.

He is 8 years old, non-verbal, very quiet, and can become anxious in busy places or around children. He needs reassurance and may hold hands in the community. He tends to eat non-edible items, so mindfulness is required.

He enjoys visiting the park, using slides, jumping, trampolining, swimming, and playing with toys, especially building blocks. Experience with children with autism is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.

DBS check and 2 references required prior to starting. Training offered includes:

  • Essential PA Guide
  • Safeguarding Adults/Children
  • Autism / Aspergers

Schedule and hours: 4 hours/week, mainly weekends, with some weekdays during holidays. Pay: £12.40/hour.

Benefits include 5.6 weeks holiday per year, training by the council.
