Job description

Support Worker Leeds 11 - Flexible Hours, £12.40/hr

Job Title: Personal Assistant to support a 10-year-old boy with Autism, requiring physical fitness.

Reporting To: Parent

Hours: 4 hours per week, plus 4 hours during school holidays. Hours are flexible and can be mutually agreed.

Holiday Entitlement: 5.6 weeks per annum (pro-rata).

Knowledge & Skills: Knowledge of Autistic Spectrum Disorder and ability to support individuals with challenging behaviours is beneficial. Training, including autism awareness, is available via the council.

Requirements: DBS check will be completed prior to starting, along with reference checks.

Role Description: Assist a boy with autism, support his independence in the community, and engage in activities like playgrounds, swimming, and Monster Kidz. Ability to swim is preferred.

Person Specification: Honest, reliable, punctual, non-judgemental, trustworthy, flexible, adaptable, positive, and good listening skills. Ability to build respectful relationships and understand equality.

Services: Social and leisure activities, autism/Asperger support.

Schedule & Pay: Various shifts including morning, afternoon, evening, overnight awake, and overnight sleep shifts. Details to be discussed.
