Job summary

Guardian Homecare is recruiting Learning Disability Support Workers to join our Basildon team. You will deliver high-quality, person-centred care across Basildon and surrounding areas, promoting independence, dignity and wellbeing.

Roles include day/evening shifts and sleep-ins, with full or part-time options. No care experience is required as we provide comprehensive training and support to help you thrive in the role.

Qualifications

• No prior social care experience required; full paid training provided.
• Driving requirement: access to a vehicle and full driving licence is required due to community-based coverage.

Responsibilities

• Empowering independence: help individuals develop essential life skills.
• Community access: support outings to college, shopping, hobbies and social activities.
• Personal care: provide dignified support with bathing, dressing and grooming.
• Medication support: collecting prescriptions, reminders and administration.
• Emotional support: act as a consistent, encouraging presence to build confidence.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Empowering Independence (helping individuals develop essential life skills, from cooking and budgeting to household tasks)
• Community Access (supporting individuals to get out and about to college, shopping, hobbies, and social activities)
• Personal care (providing dignified support with bathing, dressing, and grooming as required)
• Medication support (collecting prescriptions, providing reminders, and administration)
• Emotional support (being a consistent, encouraging presence to help build confidence and self-esteem)

You’ll also:

• Encourage social engagement and family connections
• Monitor wellbeing and report any changes to healthcare professionals and family
• Maintain accurate documentation of support providedRespond to emergencies safely and effectively
• Work collaboratively with families and the wider care team

Qualifications

What You’ll Need (Besides a Cape!) Hold onto your hats, because you don't need any social care experience to join our merry band of care crusaders!

We offer full, paid training — all you need is a positive attitude, reliability, and the drive to champion independence.

Driving Requirement: Access to a vehicle and a full driving licence is strictly required due to the community-based nature of this role covering SS13, SS14, and SS15.
