Job summary

Care England is seeking a dedicated Support Worker for our Yeovil-based supported living services on a part-time basis. You will assist adults with learning disabilities and autism, support daily living activities, and help with morning and evening routines across three homes.

You must have a full UK driving licence and be comfortable transporting individuals to day centres and community activities, while upholding dignity, independence and safety in all tasks.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting people with learning disabilities and autism.
  • Confident driver with full UK driving licence.
  • Compassionate, reliable, and person-centered in approach.
  • Willingness to work long days and split shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting people with all aspects of daily living
  • Driving individuals to and from day centres, appointments, and community activities
  • Promoting independence, choice, and inclusion in everyday life
  • Supporting individuals to engage in meaningful routines at home and in the community
  • Working collaboratively across three supported living homes to ensure consistent, high-quality support
  • Maintaining accurate records and working in line with care plans and risk assessments

Salary: £14.25 per hour

About the Role

We are recruiting a Support Worker to join our supported living services in the Yeovil area. This is a varied and rewarding role working across three small supported living homes, supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism to live independently, safely, and with dignity in their own homes. Most of the people we support attend day placements, meaning your role will focus on morning and evening routines, community access, and daily living support. This role requires a driver, as you will be responsible for transporting individuals to and from their day centres and community activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting people with all aspects of daily living
  • Driving individuals to and from day centres, appointments, and community activities
  • Promoting independence, choice, and inclusion in everyday life
  • Supporting individuals to engage in meaningful routines at home and in the community
  • Working collaboratively across three supported living homes to ensure consistent, high-quality support

About You

We’re looking for someone who is experienced in supporting people with learning disabilities and autism, a confident driver with a full UK driving licence, compassionate, reliable, and person-centered in their approach, comfortable working a mix of long days and split shifts, able to work flexibly across multiple services, and committed to promoting dignity, independence, and quality of life.
