Job summary

FitzRoy is seeking compassionate Support Workers to assist individuals with complex needs in a supported living setting. You will provide personal care, assist with health conditions, and support daily living activities alongside a caring team.

Ideal candidates will have experience with autism, learning disabilities, mental health, or brain injuries, and a patient, understanding approach. Training such as PROACT SCIPr is provided, with shifts ranging across mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience in care, especially with complex needs (autism, mental health, brain injuries) is advantageous.
• Compassionate, patient and understanding approach to care.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Willingness to learn about managing challenging behaviours (PROACT SCIPr training provided).

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with autism, learning disabilities and mental health conditions in personal care and daily living.
• Assist with meal planning, budgeting and maintaining a clean, safe living environment.
• Help individuals develop life skills and promote independence.
• Manage challenging behaviours in a calm, supportive manner using positive behaviour strategies.
• Build positive relationships with people supported, their families and external professionals.
