Job description

Bank/Occasional hours. This role is to cover for annual leave and sickness only.

Shifts are: Full day 07.30 - 19.30 with 30 minutes unpaid break or half day 07.30 - 13.30 & 13.30 - 19.30.

A night enhancement of £1.50 per hour will apply from 8pm to 7am Monday – Sunday (this does not apply to sleep-ins). A weekend day enhancement of £2.00 per hour will be paid from 7am to 8pm, Saturday and Sunday.

Hill House, rated "Good" by CQC, is a 24-bed care home with nursing, located in Sandbach, Cheshire. Our home supports adults with physical and learning disabilities.

Care Assistant, Support Worker, or similar experience is desirable but not essential. We offer excellent training and induction programmes for all!

As a Support Worker with Leonard Cheshire, you will become part of a fantastic team. Every day is different, but here are some of the duties you will perform:

  • Assisting with daily life tasks including personal care, medication, and mealtimes.
  • Escorting and assisting in and around the service, at external events and appointments.
  • Supporting our Person-Centred approach, encouraging maximum independence for our customers, and helping to achieve individual aspirations.
  • Maintaining up-to-date and accurate records.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Work flexibly and creatively with customers and their families.
  • Ideally have personal care experience (not essential).
  • Be able to work under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Be flexible to work within rostered hours and participate in an on-call rota if required.
