Job description

MSC is seeking to employ experienced and committed Support Workers (SW) to work in the following programs:

  1. Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), which provides basic entry level home support & social support in a group.
  2. Home Care Packages (HCP) – Level 1 to 4, which provides moderate to high level of home support.

What you’ll be doing:

  1. Providing in-home support which could include personal care, domestic assistance, meal preparation;
  2. Supporting the consumer to attend medical and allied health appointments by providing safe transport support;
  3. Assisting with daily activities of living and tasks;
  4. Supporting with direct care tasks related to social support services provided by the Centre including day centre services, social outings, and getaways;
  5. Providing safe transport support to enable service users to access community and social activities;
  6. Engaging with daily wellness and reablement activities to support clients in maintaining or enhancing their skills for independence.

We are looking for people that:

  1. Can build a positive supportive relationship with the people being supported;
  2. Are committed to a person-centred approach in their work;
  3. Are passionate about supporting people;
  4. Can speak multiple languages, with a current need for Italian, Spanish, Macedonian, Dari/Persian/Farsi, Vietnamese, and Hindi/Gujarati.

Things that matter to us:

  1. Certificate in individualised support, disability, and/or aged care (highly desirable);
  2. Previous experience working in aged care (highly desirable);
  3. Ability to engage and work from a respective framework for people/families supported;
  4. An understanding and/or experience of the needs of people from CaLD backgrounds;
  5. Valid WA driver’s license and a reliable private vehicle;
  6. Hold or are prepared to obtain an NDIS Check;
  7. Hold COVID-19 vaccination certificate;
  8. Ability to work independently and show initiative.
