Job summary

Mencap is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our services in Abbots Langley, Hertfordshire. You will support adults with learning disabilities with daily activities and social engagement, within a vibrant, caring team.

Flexibility to cover days, evenings, weekends and sleep-ins is important. You will help with activities like music, crafts, cooking and local walks, while ensuring safety and dignity at all times.

Qualifications

• Must have a genuine passion for supporting others.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build meaningful relationships.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Positive and empathetic attitude toward individuals with learning disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily activities and provide emotional support.
• Help with activities (music, craft, cooking, gardening, walks, games) and social engagement.
• Work within 24hr care rotas with early and sleep-in shifts; DBS check and references.
