Job Description:

Job Purpose: I am a friendly, independent lady living in my home with my cat. I enjoy reading, yoga, knitting, and community activities. I have autism, M.E./chronic fatigue syndrome, OCD, anxiety, and allergies to dust. I need support with admin, organizing my flat, and accessing activities that benefit my health and interests, such as gaming, yoga, and support groups.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with weekly shopping and occasional errands.
  • Food preparation, including cooking hot meals.
  • Supporting household admin: calls, post, letters/emails, filing, note-taking.
  • Household cleaning when my cleaner is unavailable.
  • Receiving visitors, deliveries, and greeting workmen.
  • Animal care: grooming, litter tray, vet visits.
  • Occasional gardening, such as pot watering and weeding.
  • Supporting access to activities like gaming, yoga, and support groups.
  • Any other reasonable tasks.

Person Specification:

  • Previous care/support experience.
  • Owns a car with a valid license and insurance.
  • High standard of cleaning and hygiene.
  • Ability to cook hot meals.
  • Comfortable working around a shy cat.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Respectful, friendly, calm, and quiet manner.
  • Very organized and flexible hours.
  • Non-smoker.

Terms & Conditions:

  • Pay rate: £14.63/hr, double time on bank holidays.
  • Expenses reimbursed as agreed.

Hours: Average 16 hours/week, including weekday mornings and some weekends/evenings. Hours may vary based on health and activity needs. Opportunities for cover are available.

Additional info: Satisfactory DBS check and references required. Probation period: 6 months.

Services: Meal prep, domestic care, social activities, support for independence.

Training: Food hygiene, hand hygiene, autism/Asperger's awareness.

Transportation: Full UK driving license and own car required.
