Job summary

Brighthire Recruitment in Colchester is seeking experienced Support Workers for ongoing temporary assignments across Essex. You will support adults with learning disabilities and complex needs, providing person-centred care and helping them live as independently as possible.

We offer weekly pay, flexible hours including day and night shifts, and training support with DBS processing. If you have UK care experience and a calm, caring approach, apply now.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of UK care experience.
• Experience supporting people with learning disabilities and/or autism.
• Experience or confidence supporting challenging behaviour.
• Calm, reliable and caring approach.
• Good communication skills.
• Must be 18+ and have the right to work in the UK.
• Skilled Worker visa holders welcome – up to 20 hours per week; visa switching not available.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service preferred, with support to obtain a new DBS if needed.

Responsibilities

• Support adults with learning disabilities to live independently.
• Assist with daily routines and activities.
• Promote independence in day-to-day tasks.
• Provide personal care and assist with manual handling.
• Support individuals displaying challenging behaviour.
• Follow care plans and keep records up to date.
• Work as part of a team to provide consistent support.
• Build positive and respectful relationships.
