Are you looking for a flexible role where you can make a positive impact on people’s lives?
If you’re a fun, kind, and compassionate person, then we’re looking for you too!
You’ll be based in our friendly home in Flackwell Heath, empowering six male adults with learning disabilities to live as independently as possible whether that’s teaching everyday life skills, attending appointments together, or sharing hobbies and interests.
Whilst the people who draw on our support enjoy their daily routines, we can guarantee that no day will be the same. You might find yourself helping Tim* to volunteer at the local charity shop, dancing to Abba with Michael*, getting the Lego out with Jake*, or going to the local pub on Fridays with Dan*. They also enjoy doing activities together both inside and outside of the home, such as cooking new recipes and giving back to their community by going litter picking.
The people living here are very outgoing and sociable, so we are hoping that you know what’s happening locally or know where to look for new experiences and opportunities, encouraging connectedness and purpose where they live.
You’ll build close relationships and create a safe and trusting environment for the administration of daily medications and intimate care, as well as empowering the people who draw on our support to make their own choices and be in control of their own lives.
How flexible hours work
It's a bit like a zero hour contract but without the bad bits.
The post supports the permanent rota staff by completing shifts that are vacant due to annual leave, training and other staff absences. As such, hours are non-specific but your manager will endeavour to balance the needs of the service against your own work/life balance as appropriately as possible.
We normally plan the rotas one month in advance, but additional opportunities also come up due to unexpected staff absences.
You will need to have a full UK manual driving licence for this role.
