Community Integrated Care is one of the UK’s largest health and social care charities. We transform lives by delivering high-quality, person-centred support that fosters independence and empowerment.
Our charity was founded in 1988 and we were one of the pioneers of the ‘Care in the Community’ agenda, enabling people to move out of long-stay institutions and live more fulfilling lives.
Since then, we’ve remained leaders in social care, providing bespoke support to thousands across the UK. Today, we support more than 2,600 people and employ 6,600 caring and committed colleagues across England and Scotland.
We have a proud history of breaking boundaries and are always looking for new ways to make a positive difference through bold ideas, innovative projects and impactful partnerships.
I am a 42 year old lady and I have been diagnosed with Angelman Syndrome, I don’t communicate using speech and I use Makaton, BSL, my own tones and hand gestures to communicate. I am quite mobile within my home but I do need assistance when I am out in the community and I do have a wheelchair. I require staff to be fully trained and competent and I like to have a regular staff team as I like them to know me well and I like to know them well
There is always at least 1 colleagues on shift.
1 like my staff to work 10am to 10am with a sleepover from 11pm to 7am during this shift. This shift pattern is 7 days a week but when my Mum visits on a Tuesday and Friday she will come 10am to 5pm and I require my staff to be on call between these times just in case my Mum needs them to come into my home to support.
We know it takes a special person to work in social care and we recognise that not everyone that would be perfect for the role, will have professional experience. This is why we’re really passionate about recruiting to individuals’ values and we recruit people from all walks of life; From people with vast experience in a support worker or care assistant role, from people with lived experiences who may have friends or relatives with disabilities or have looked after older relatives, to people with no experience at all.
Here at Community Integrated Care we aim to be a warm, welcoming and inclusive employer, where all colleagues feel they belong. We want to an organisation that is truly fair and equal to all - where individual diversity is valued, unique characteristics celebrated and everyone feels able to bring their true selves to work.
By encouraging and embracing a range of diverse backgrounds, experiences, capabilities and viewpoints, we will build a stronger, richer, more vibrant workforce, which reflects the people we support, and the communities in which we work. It helps us make better decisions, bring fresh ideas and become a true provider and employer of choice.
We have a really clear plan to achieve this called A Place I Belong. This publicly sets out the promises we’ve made to achieving this vision and how we will hold ourselves to account to getting there.
We wish you the very best of luck in your application to joining our charity. Should you require any adjustments during the recruitment process, please feel free to contact recruitment@c-i-c.co.uk
