Support Worker Needed: Make a Lasting Impact in Sarah's Life
Are you compassionate, dedicated, and eager to make a real difference in someone's life? We are looking for a special individual to support Sarah*, a person with multiple learning and physical disabilities.
You will help Sarah live her fullest, most independent life by assisting with daily activities such as medication management, personal hygiene, and feeding (including support with a PEG tube). Your role also involves engaging her in activities she loves, like swimming and outings, and working with a multidisciplinary team including registered nurses.
Understanding Sarah's non-verbal cues is essential, as is supporting her during outings, which requires a valid UK manual or automatic driving license. The position offers 28-37.5 hours per week, with rotational shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
Prior experience is not necessary; we value your willingness to learn, empathy, and enthusiasm. We seek individuals who celebrate differences and are committed to inclusion and respect.
*Name changed for privacy.
Note: We are currently unable to offer sponsorships as we await further guidance from the Home Office. Applications requiring sponsorship cannot be considered at this time.
If you've been a care assistant or support worker, that's a plus, but not essential. The key qualities are warmth, friendliness, and a desire to help others. A UK driver’s license (manual or automatic) is required.
MacIntyre is a national charity supporting over 1,200 people with learning disabilities and/or autism, founded in 1966. We celebrate individual talents and contributions.
We support your growth through eLearning, face-to-face training, mentoring, and ongoing professional development, all free of charge.
Benefits include six weeks' annual leave, pension scheme, staff savings scheme, health and wellbeing support, discounts, and more.
