We have a 30-hour per week position in Caithness for a caring, enthusiastic, and self-motivated individual to support two ladies in Thurso. You will work according to tailored care plans to meet their individual needs.
The ladies enjoy activities like walks, meeting friends, Scottish music, cinema visits, and pampering sessions. One lady lives in a friendly cul-de-sac with a garden and summer house, and enjoys spending time there with visitors. Nearby are beaches, train stations, and bus stops.
Shifts are between 9am-9pm, with flexibility for sleepovers, including weekends. You will support in all aspects of daily living. Previous autism experience is beneficial; the team is trained in Autism awareness. We seek someone kind and patient.
You will support a lady with Down’s Syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorder, who loves music, dancing, and singing. She enjoys picnics, outings, and time with her dad and brother, who are very important to her. One lady has a fear of dogs, requiring patience, reassurance, and community outings by car due to her unease. A UK driving license is essential.
This role requires a female support worker, as per the Equality Act, to support a lady who prefers female staff. All staff work various shifts to ensure fairness.
