What makes Community Integrated Care a great place to work: Benefits & USP’s:
Community Integrated Care is one of the UK’s largest health and social care charities. We work hard to enrich the lives of people with many different care needs. It’s exciting and rewarding work, and we’re full of pride and passion for what we do.
Since the early days, we’ve grown to provide many innovative and bespoke care services to thousands of people across England and Scotland. We want to provide support based on the principles of choice, dignity and respect. This resonates in our vision of ‘Your Life, Your Choice’ and our strategy ‘Best Lives Possible’.
We have strong values and we’re proud to pioneer new ways of delivering social care to stand out in our sector. In the past two years, we have won or made the shortlist for over national and regional awards!
We are also focused on our people. Our Support Workers are dedicated and passionate about going ‘the extra mile’ for the people we support and in return, we go the extra mile for them by investing in pay, recognition, wellbeing and continued professional and personal development. We will provide you with all the training, support and personal protective equipment you need in your role and will help you develop, should you decide you want to develop your career with us.
Most of us living in Oswin Road need staff support in daily routines with active support. Staff help us with a wide range of tasks and duties including:
The core hours will also cover any overnight arrangements required to meet unmet eligible needs, whether this be through assistive technology, a waking night or a sleep-in member of staff. The provider will be expected to explore assistive technology options to better meet needs and promote independence at night.
We all enjoy activities such as the weekly quiz, arts and crafts activities, listening to music, visiting the pub for games of pool and a pint of beer, films, theatre, and wrestling. We can be a fun crowd and enjoy working with staff that can relate to us and our hobbies/interests. We would not enjoy spending time with people who are bossy, pushy, running around, shouting or very noisy as it would tend to make a few of us upset.
Support staff are on site 24-hours and will provide both planned and responsive support during the day, and emergency support overnight. Staffing shifts are two 14-hour shifts (8am to 10pm), one 12-hour shift (10am to 10pm) and a one to one shift of 10 hours (8am to 6pm). There are two overnight staff. Both complete a 10-hour shift (10pm to 8am).
To support us to have the Best Life Possible all our staff are trained in Schizophrenia, autism, self-harm and ligatures, hoarding and self-neglect and mental health.
We know it takes a special person to work in social care and we recognise that not everyone that would be perfect for the role will have professional experience. This is why we're really passionate about recruiting to individuals’ values and we recruit people from all walks of life; From people with vast experience in a support worker or care assistant role, from people with lived experiences who may have friends or relatives with disabilities or have looked after older relatives, to people with no experience at all.
Naturally it is important too that you share our company values - We Include; We Deliver; We Aspire; We Respect; We Enable, which are at the heart of everything we do and ensure that we deliver high quality, consistent care and support. People's values are important to us, so we look for people with:
