Job summary

CareTech is recruiting a Support Worker for King George Close in Bromsgrove. Join a residential care home supporting young people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs in a safe, person-centred environment.

You will deliver high-quality, individualised support, build trusting relationships, follow PBS plans, assist with daily living skills, and work on a rota including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins to meet the needs of the service users.

Qualifications

• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis.
• Full UK driving licence
• Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech)
• Willingness to work towards a Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, person-centred support in line with individual plans
• Build trusting and professional relationships
• Support individuals during periods of emotional distress
• Follow Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans
• Assist with daily living skills and personal care (where required)
• Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing
• Support with appointments, activities, and community access
• Maintain accurate records and work effectively within a team
• Work flexibly on a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, sleep-ins, and waking nights

Rate: £12.79 per hour

Permanent | Full-time | 37.5hours per week (rota-based)

About the Service – King George Close

King George Close is a residential care home located in a quiet residential street. The service supports up to five young people with a range of mental health diagnoses, learning disabilities, and/or autistic spectrum conditions.

Our focus is on supporting individuals to develop independence and progress on their personal journey.

About the People We Support

The individuals living at the service may present with:

• Autistic Spectrum Disorder
• Mental health needs
• Emotional dysregulation
• Self-harm behaviours
• Behaviours that challenge services

Our aim is to create a safe, therapeutic, and person-centred environment where individuals can develop emotional regulation, independence, and achieve positive outcomes.

Service User Interests

We actively support individuals to engage in meaningful activities, including:

• Arts and crafts
• Days out (theme parks, meals, social activities, Christmas markets)
• Holidays and short breaks
• Walks in the local community and parks
• Cooking and baking to build life skills

The Role

As a Support Worker, you will:

• Deliver high-quality, person-centred support in line with individual plans
