Job Description:

Your new company

You will be working at one of the leading Family Assessment Centres in England and Wales. Their focus is to keep families together when it is safe and in the best interest of the child to do so. They assess all types of families, from couples to single mothers and fathers of all ages and abilities. You will be part of a great organisation who put people at the heart of everything they do.

Your new role

When a family arrives at the service, as a team, you will put together an assessment to suit the needs of each individual in order to assess their parenting skills and ability to safely care for their child. Every day can be different for their residents depending on their needs and circumstances. Residents are assessed on daily parenting techniques such as general care with feeding, nappy changes, bath time, safety and protection, and emotional warmth. The services assessments are more than just observing the parent and the child. You will be there to offer advice and support to help them develop their skills in areas beyond parenting. You will be assisting in running groups to help parents in areas like cooking, self-esteem, and play sessions with their children.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Promote service users' rights, dignity, and empowerment.
  • Respect emotional wellbeing and obtain consent for care.
  • Create opportunities for individuals to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Support physical, emotional, social, and intellectual wellbeing.

What you'll need to succeed

  • At least 6 months experience within a Social Care role.
  • Ideally Level 2 in Health and Social Care or Adult Care.
  • Verbal and written English; basic maths skills.
  • Enhanced DBS with adult's barred list (Hays can request a new DBS).
  • Able to obtain employment references from the past 2 years.
  • Understanding of the responsibilities of a Support Worker.
  • A passion for caring for individuals and making an impact on people's lives!

What you'll get in return

In return, you will receive a competitive hourly pay and consistent weekly shifts on an ongoing basis. You will have a dedicated consultant who will understand your needs and secure roles for you based on them. We also offer a referral scheme: refer a friend, and if they complete 6 months’ work with Hays, you will receive a £250 shopping voucher. Hays provides free training on our online portal to help you develop your skills.
