Job summary

Radis Community Care in Cambridge is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our Extra Care Scheme. The role involves assisting elderly residents with physical frailty, helping them stay independent, moving safely to dining areas and communal spaces, and returning to their rooms when requested.

You will support personal care tasks, participate in group and individual activities, and contribute to delivering care that promotes dignity, respect and choice.

Responsibilities

• Assist elderly individuals who are experiencing physical frailty, helping them maintain as much independence as possible.
• Aide residents with restricted mobility by moving them safely to dining areas, communal spaces and back to their rooms.
• Assist with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene and dressing.
• Take part in recreational and social activities with people, both individually and as a group.
• Promote independence, choice, dignity, and respect by delivering care to the highest standard.

Job description

Radis Community Care are looking for a Support Worker to join our team based in Richard Newcombe, Cambridge.

Richard Newcombe has 40 bedroom apartments designed to help local residents to retain as much independence and control over their lives as possible.

This will be a mix of morning and late shifts, alternate weekends, plus sickness and annual leave cover. 25hours + per week.

At this present time, we are unable to consider Sponsorship for this role.

About the role

As a Support Worker in our Extra Care Scheme, your primary responsibility is to assist elderly individuals who are experiencing physical frailty, helping them maintain as much independence as possible. This includes supporting people we support with restricted mobility by aiding them in moving safely to dining areas for meals, communal spaces for social engagement, and back to the privacy of their own rooms when requested.

The role will require you to assist people we support with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene and dressing. You will have the opportunity to take part in physical and mental stimulation by taking part in recreational and social activities with people, both individually and as a group.

The core aim of this role is to promote independence, choice, dignity, and respect, consistently delivering care to the highest standard.
