Job description

iPeople SC Solutions are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Support Workers to work with 16-18 year Care Leavers for our client based in Enfield and Ilford area.

Strong interpersonal and organisational skills are essential to build a professional rapport with the Young People and support them in achieving their independence.

There are also opportunities to develop into the role of a Senior Support Worker with greater responsibilities and benefits.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Monitor, support, and advise a small group of Young People within a lone working setting.
  • You will typically work with children who are Asylum Seekers, Young Offenders, YP struggling with mental health difficulties, and those with minor learning difficulties.
  • You will also be expected to complete 1:1 life-skills work with the young people and escorting to appointments when necessary.
  • Complete Daily Logs, Monthly Reports, and Incident Reports.
  • Receive regular monthly supervision by a qualified and experienced social worker.
  • Utilize an easy-to-use bespoke IT system for reporting.
  • Maintain cleanliness in communal areas.
  • Senior managers regularly visit and are available 24 hours a day for support and advice.
  • Consultation available upon request.
  • Cover arranged for the houses if you are asked to escort young people for appointments.
  • Shifts are allocated monthly based on your availability provided a month in advance, although fixed shift patterns are preferred.
Working Hours
  • Day Shifts are 8am – 7pm
  • Night Shifts (sleep-in) are 7pm – 8am (Sleeping Hours are 12-7am)
Requirements
  • Valid Enhanced DBS dated in past 12 months.
  • NVQ Level 3 or higher in Health and Social Care or relevant qualification.
  • Relevant professional experience working with children / Care Leavers aged 16-18.
  • Night and weekend availability are essential.
