Job description

Salary: £15.38 per hour

Location: Southampton, Hampshire

Type of Contract: Permanent

Hours of work: Full-time days

Driver: Full UK manual driver’s license

About the role

Julian is a 36-year-old man living in the Southampton area, supported on a 3:1 ratio. He has a diagnosis of autism and mild to moderate intellectual disability.

Julian has experienced significant life changes, including multiple placement breakdowns, hospitalizations, and trauma-informed care. Team members should be experienced in supporting individuals who can present with challenging behaviors that are unpredictable. You will need to be a responsive, resilient, calm, and patient individual in a highly pressurized environment.

While experience within social care is desirable, transferable skills from other professions will also be considered.

Julian enjoys walks along the beach, listening to music, and swimming with team members.

We seek outgoing, physically active team members capable of setting clear boundaries and building trust through consistent, reliable actions.

Julian responds well to positive verbal prompts and requires support with shopping, cooking, household tasks, and personal care. He is articulate and benefits from calm, positive communication.

About PBS4

PBS4 is a values-led social care provider supporting adults with neurodisability using Positive Behaviour Support. Our CEO, Jonathan Beebee, is a registered Learning Disabilities Nurse and qualified Behaviour Analyst. We support 35 people across Hampshire, Dorset, Berkshire, and Oxfordshire, with a workforce of over 300.

Support Workers are called Enablement Assistants, and they receive support from dedicated team members, including managers and clinicians. Shifts may include day shifts, waking nights, and sleeps.
