Job description

Support Worker (Internally known as an Enablement Assistant)

Location: Littlemore and Headington in Oxfordshire

Hours Per Week: Part time

Hourly Rate: £13.00

About the role

The person you will be supporting is 34-year-old Lee, who loves socialising, meeting new people, and staying active. Lee enjoys having his days planned in advance and likes activities such as bike rides, trips to Nando’s, and having fun.

He has a mild-moderate Learning Disability, Autistic Traits, and an unspecified eating disorder. Lee may need help with daily living tasks, primarily prompting, and sometimes needs explanations repeated until he understands.

We seek someone active, fun, and upbeat who can encourage Lee to try new activities with positivity, especially when he is hesitant.

Additionally, support is provided to John, a 52-year-old man with Autism and learning disabilities, living in Headington. Support involves helping with cooking, shopping, cleaning, and encouraging independence, along with engaging in activities like listening to music, attending a music group, and going for walks and meals out. John can become anxious and benefits from warm, reassuring team members.
