Job summary

NORWOOD in the United Kingdom is seeking dedicated Support Workers to join our team, supporting adults with complex needs in a residential setting. You will work as part of a supportive team delivering person-centred care and building positive, trusting relationships with the people you support.

This role focuses on enabling dignity, choice and independence, with daily tasks ranging from personal care and meal prep to activities, outings and health appointments.

Qualifications

• Dedicated support workers who can deliver person-centred care.
• Ability to build trusting relationships and communicate with empathy.
• Willingness to support adults with complex needs in a residential setting.

Responsibilities

• Support people with their personal routines including personal care and meal preparation.
• Encourage independence through life skills like budgeting, shopping and social outings.
• Help people enjoy hobbies and interests: swimming, music, arts and outdoor activities.
• Accompany residents to health appointments and trips out.
• Work closely with our Physical Activity Practitioner, including in the hydrotherapy pool.
• Contribute to household tasks and maintain a welcoming home environment.
• Use a range of communication methods (Makaton, objects of reference, expressions).
• Drive the home vehicle for activities and appointments (if you're a driver).
