Job summary

Together for Mental Wellbeing is seeking a dedicated support worker in the United Kingdom to assist service users in living their best lives. You will help them exercise choice, set goals, manage daily tasks, and attend appointments, both at home and in the community.

Role requires empathy, good English, basic IT skills, and the ability to work in a 24/7 shift pattern. Training will be provided, and the aim is to enhance safety and independence for service users.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting vulnerable individuals from paid work, volunteering, or life experience.
  • GCSE or Level II qualification in English, or equivalent.
  • Basic competence with email and word processing software.
  • Demonstrate empathy and ability to create a trusting environment.
  • Maintain professional boundaries when working with service users.
  • Able to establish a safe environment for service users.
  • Willing to undertake domestic tasks with service users as needed.
  • Ability to navigate welfare benefits and education relationships.
  • Willingness to participate in job-related learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other organisations.
  • Able to use email and computerised systems for records.
  • Able to travel and have access to car/public transport.
  • Flexible to work shifts on a 24-hour 7-day rota.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain trust with service users to build engagement.
  • Help service users set, prioritise and achieve goals and manage tenancies.
  • Work flexibly with service users in homes and in the community.
  • Carry out assessments and determine urgency of needs.
  • Refer to professionals from other agencies and link to opportunities.
  • Carry out risk assessments to keep service users safe and improve care.
  • Attend placement reviews and participate in reviews.
  • Work 1:1 and in groups with service users.
  • Assist with finances, benefits, education, and relationships.
  • Accompany service users to appointments.
  • Assist with domestic tasks like cooking and cleaning while following infection control.
  • Assist with personal care as required.
  • Adhere to lone working policy.
  • Make timely, concise, English-language records using Together systems.
  • Write reports clearly, with training provided.
  • Participate in mandatory and job-related courses.
  • Maintain professional boundaries in all interactions.
