Job description

The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year). Part-time hours / sessional posts will be pro-rated accordingly.

Hourly rate of pay: £13.48 - £14.33. This is a 52 week non-sessional post, including working during school holidays.

Temporary until 1st October 2026. Days and hours of work: Monday, 08:00-18:00, Tuesday, 08:00-15:45, Wednesday, 08:15-17:00, Thursday, 08:15-16:45, with a 30 minute break each day. To start as soon as possible.

Law Primary School is situated in North Berwick, with a new purpose-built Early Years Centre opened in 2024. Our nursery has a capacity of up to 80 children per session, with a large staff team providing high-quality early learning.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications: Good standard of general education, SVQ in Social Services (Children & Young People) at SCQF Level 6, or an alternative SSSC recognized equivalent qualification. First Aid and Level 2 Food Hygiene certificates are desirable.

SSSC registration or agreement to register within 6 months from the date of appointment is essential.

PVG Membership: This post requires a PVG Scheme membership or update prior to any formal offer of employment.

If you have spent more than 3 months working or living outside the UK in the last 5 years, you will be required to present a copy of an overseas criminal record check.
