Job description

Support Worker (Early Years) - Athelstaneford Primary School - EAL11274

The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year). Part-time hours / sessional posts will be pro-rated accordingly.

This is a 39-week sessional post, meaning working hours will be during school term time plus in-service days.

Hourly rate of pay: £12.96 - £13.78

Days and hours of work:
Monday - Thursday, 11:45-13:45

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Early Years Support Worker to join our Early Years team at Athelstaneford Nursery.

To work in support of early years staff by contributing towards creating a warm, friendly, safe, and caring environment for children aged 2–5 years.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications

• Education: Good standard of general education.
• Must hold an SVQ in Social Services (Children & Young People) at SCQF Level 6 or an SSSC recognized equivalent qualification. If not already obtained, commit to achieving the SVQ within the required period.
• First Aid qualification or willingness to work towards it.
• Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate or willingness to obtain it.
• SSSC registration or agreement to register within 6 months of appointment.

This post is considered Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as per the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
